Morons Running the Media
Okay, so this deserves some attention. I have two articles that I need to compare. First up, one with the headline, "Electronic Arts top expectations, eyes share gains" while the second has the headline, "Electronic Arts profit outlook disappoints." Now, so you can really compare, let me give you both opening paragraphs (in order).
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Top video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc
(ERTS.O) on Tuesday posted a quarterly profit that beat Wall Street expectations
and said it expects to gain market share on the strength of upcoming titles like
"Spore" and "The Sims 3."SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Top video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc (ERTS.O) issued an annual profit outlook on Tuesday that fell short of Wall Street forecasts as a drive to improve quality jacked up costs. Its shares fell 3.7 percent.
So, does that make any sense to you? Well, did you notice one curious item? Take a look; both articles are from Reuters. Umm...do these people talk to each other? I mean, I can understand if the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have a difference of opinion, but two divisions of Reuters? What are they smoking in that organization?
Sometimes, stupidity can cost you. Here's to hoping Reuters gets smoked by media watchers for this rampant act of stupidity.
