I Will Never Understand ESPN's Schedule

Okay, so tonight there are a few college football games. Now, ESPN has #23 Maryland playing at Virginia Tech showing. But wait, isn't there a better game on? See, #11 TCU is playing at #10 Utah with both a conference title and a shot at a BCS game on the line. So why is ESPN showing the game they are?

Well, let's give one reason. Maryland and Virginia Tech both come from big BCS conferences while TCU and Utah come from the non-Big 6 conferences. But what should that matter? There is no way either Maryland or Virginia Tech will be playing in a major bowl; the winning of the TCU-Utah game has a real possibility.

With that game on ESPN, what about the Deuce or ESPNU? Well, ESPNU has Howard at South Carolina State. Umm...okay. The Deuce? Oh yeah, MLS playoffs. (Cause you know, people stampede to that one. Hehe. I couldn't help it. Sorry...)

Now, is the game I am watching simply based on geography? That could be a possibility, but brings up its own issue. I live in Michigan; why would I care more about a Maryland-Virginia Tech game over TCU-Utah? I am nowhere near any of these schools.

Well, I don't understand. But, oh well.
