Homeowners Self-Segregate? WOW!

So yeah, I just had to comment on this article. I mean, how could I not with this title: "Homeowners Self-Segregate by Race and Education" See, it is a huge surprise to this author that people would spend money to live in an area with a similar racial background. Not just whites, but blacks did so too.

Was this a surprise for you? It sure wasn't for me. Lefties proclaim that diversity is just the most wonderful thing, but is it really? Look at places with forced integration and diversity objectives, schools and universities. I would imagine that almost any place you went to you would find the white kids hang out primarily with white kids, black kids primarily with black kids, and that even if a white and a black form a friendship in a class, the white kid isn't a friend of the black kid's friends and vice versa. Focusing on skin color is absurd, and actually is more often than not racist. Think of it this way. You see two separate groups, one a group of white kids and one a group of black kids. If you force a white student to join the black group and a black student to join the white group, aren't you implying that race is important and that to not be racist, you must racially discriminate against potential friends?

Oh well. At least the story tells the truth without a lot of biased reporting. Remember, only you can decide who your friends will be and if you feel more comfortable around your similar race and educational background, so be it. Friendship is a form of comfort and trust. Just because you haven't found someone from a different background that makes you comfortable doesn't mean you discriminate against so-called "others." Remember, it is the person who looks at the racial composition of your friendship and says you need more outside your race friends that is the real racist.
