Does Yahoo!'s Editors Read the Stories Linked On Its Front Page?
So in two stories currently on Yahoo! News's front page, you can see how idiotic the news really is. In one story, the author is lamenting how Republicans voted against expanding health insurance for children (even though in reality, this insurance would have then covered kids with parents making almost $100,000 a year). However, in another story, there is talk about how the Pentagon is failing ill soldiers.
How are these two connected you may ask? Why are Yahoo!'s editors idiots? Well, who do you think would be running the insurance for the kids? Oh yeah, the same people who are incompetently running insurance for veterans. Amazing, right?
See, government is horrible at health care. If fails pretty miserably almost all of the time. (Better put that qualifier in because I am sure if Nancy Pelosi fell ill on Capitol Hill, the government would make sure some darn good doctors showed up.) But for you and me? Eh, we live just to give our money to the government. If we die, oh well. One less person looking for Social Security in 40 years.
So when you read these sob stories about how kids are going without health care, ask yourself well, two questions. What kids are we talking about and are they really worse off now than they would be later? (To answer, we are talking about kids with parents making some good money and I know they are better off now than if the government provided insurance rather than having parents provide it cause that is the other part of this story, parents deciding to not pay for insurance so the government will step in and buy it for them.)
