WSJ or Liberals are Pansies Update
So, yesterday, I put up a post about the News Corp. buying the Dow Jones Company and its Wall Street Journal. Seems liberals are really scared. Turns out a Democrat on the FCC is mad that the Journal would be owned by a group that owns a TV station. Except, when you get down to it, the rule would not apply in this situation if anybody but a liberal read the rules. (For some reason, laws and regulations are like written in invisible ink as well when passed because liberals somehow seem to find words written that no regular person can see.) See, the rule applies only to a local newspaper. But wait, the Wall Street Journal is a New York City paper so the rule applies. Essentially, that is what the Democrat is arguing. Now, I may not have a fancy title or nothin', but who would be dumb enough to believe that the Journal is only a local paper? Anybody? Hands? No? Nothin'?
See, any non-stock holding grandmother would say that the Wall Street Journal is a national paper. The idea that this somehow limits competition is utterly pointless. No offense to Mr. High and Mighty Democrat, but sit down and be quiet. The Journal is the opposite of the New York Times, ahh, also published in NYC. Would the Dem call the Times a local paper? (If he did, I have to believe the Times might be pissed at that classification, as they claim to be the "nation's paper.") Eventually, this deal will pass, the Dem will be told to be quiet, and the Journal will be owned by News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch.
Now, the issue with the CNBC's deal with the Journal, that is interesting. But alas, no one seems to really care about that one. Oh well. Just another bit of proof that reporters, as much as they claim to the contrary, are liberal pansies, afraid of conservatives.
