Sen. Craig and the Overblown "Crime"
So yeah, the liberal media is celebrating Sen. Craig (R-ID) getting arrested for propositioning a cop in a men's room. Except, exactly what did he do illegally? I mean, sure, prostitution is wrong, but this wasn't prostitution. Once again, a Republican sex crime missing the sex.
Now, you can believe what you want. Frankly, I don't give a crap. Sure, the guy is probably personally hypocritical, but in this instance, individual hypocrisy is permitted. See, I hate hypocrisy, but for all those claiming he is gay but acts anti-gay forget that he is also a representative of his state as a United States Senator. If the people of a state believe one thing and the Senator votes according to the citizens' beliefs rather than his own, that is personal hypocrisy, but shouldn't we be celebrating that? Shouldn't it be news that he looked his personal beliefs in the eye, realized his constituents disagreed with him and voted against his beliefs? I am willing to be understanding there. It is up to his constituents whether he deserves to be reelected, but at least he listens to the people right?
I guess what really pisses me off is not his action (like I said, I really don't care). I am annoyed by the media that is so anti-gay (yep, you read that right) that they will treat a gay man differently than a straight man. (Oh, whoops. Was I not supposed to make that connection?) See, either homosexuality is okay or it isn't. Seems the media doesn't really like gays as much as they claim to. (Does that sound like Craig saying he isn't gay?)
This so-called crime is not that big of a deal. I mean, let's be serious. Craig came onto a cop in a men's room. It ain't like he drove his car into a lake and left a woman to die in it. Why don't we ask that particular Senator to resign before we go after the men's room pick-up artist....
