MTV, Racism, Double Standards

So, I must congratulate MTV on showing the racist remarks made by a black cast member on the show, "Reunited Real World Las Vegas." In the show, the black guy says to the white guy, "You are white...and a Jew" when discussing a gambling challenge, drawing on the stingy Jewish stereotype.

So how is this a double standard? Well, suppose it was reversed and the white guy called the black guy something? (Pick a racist term; just listen to Jesse "I am a racist" Jackson for hints on a word.) How much you wanna bet the white guy would be taken to rehab or kicked off the show? That ain't really a long shot.

So what happened here? Ummm...If you said "nothing," you must have seen the episode or you are truly a double standard wizard. Actually, it was kind of odd. See, one of the black ladies on the show actually defended the racist comments. Wow. Imagine if a white person defended racist remarks by a white guy?

So, at least MTV showed the dispute, even if they still treated blacks and whites differently. So, in honor of a real test of MTV, here is to a white guy on the next show dropping the N-word. Wonder what MTV's response would be....not really. I know already.
