Weird Question
Ok, this is something I don't understand. When they show a poker tourney's final table on TV, why do they not show hands where people are eliminated? For example, I was just watching one episode of the World Series of Poker where they come back from a commercial and they are showing a guy getting up and saying goodbye after getting eliminated. Since the show is pre-taped, is it that hard to show the important action? What is the point of showing a pretty meaningless hand with a small pot instead of a hand where someone loses everything? You always wonder, when some shows have the disclaimer, "action not affecting the outcome has been cut," isn't not showing a hand technically against that? In fact, I have seen shows with that at the end and in heads up play between two players, the chip counts will actually reverse (meaning the person with the most chips now has the least) after a commercial. Didn't whatever hand that changed that "affect the outcome?" Just wondering.
