NCAA and offensiveness

So, I was thinking a little bit ago. Since the NCAA feels Native American names are discriminatory, is that where it ends? Think about this. In light of the recent tragedy in the Gulf Coast, wouldn't it make sense that the Miami University's nickname is also offensive because they are called the "Hurricanes?" Just wondering.
